MISSION STATEMENT

United Health Organization’s (UHO) celebrates 41 years of service. Its mission is to promote and support healthy lifestyles and overall health improvement via the detection of asymptomatic disease through regular screenings, education, counseling, referral and follow-up. Asymptomatic diseases typically present no symptoms. We achieve this primarily through our annual initiative, Project Healthy Living.

Our objectives are

·        to encourage persons to take responsibility for their own health by adopting healthy habits and lifestyles

·        to educate the public in disease prevention strategies

·        to enlist the public to regularly monitor their health status by taking advantage of the comprehensive battery of free and low-cost health screening services that UHO offers

WHO

UHO provides opportunities for other non-profit health and human service agencies to interact with our constituency and to share vital health education and disease prevention and detection information to the public at large.

Our strategic partners include Community Health Care Resources, Rosedale Park Baptist Church, the Cover the Uninsured Michigan Network, Quest Diagnostic Laboratories, the City of Detroit, Wayne County Community Health, Patient Care Management Systems (PCMS)/Wayne County Health Choice, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
